Quando John Mayer lançou suas músicas novas, alguns fãs se perguntaram se aquele romantismo todo tinha musa inspiradora. E tem sim. O cantor e músico confirmou, em entrevista ao jornal The New York Times, que a música “Still Feel Like Your Man” foi escrita pensando em Katy Perry, com quem ele terminou pela última vez em 2015.
“Em quem mais eu podeira estar pensando? Isso só atesta o fato de eu não ter namorado ninguém nos últimos cinco, seis anos. Esse foi meu único namoro”, explicou John Mayer.
Além de repetir várias vezes que “ainda sinto que sou seu namorado”, a letra da música traz versos como “ainda tenho seu shampoo no meu chuveiro, no caso de você querer lavar o cabelo” e “ainda penso que nunca vou encontrar outra como você”.
