Depois de um lançamento conturbado, Lorde finalmente liberou “Solar Power”, seu novo single, nas plataformas de streaming nesta quinta-feira (10/06). A música chegou acompanhada de um clipe oficial dirigido pela intérprete em parceria com Joel Kefali. O vídeo apresenta novas inspirações e referências estéticas da artista, que aparece desbravando uma praia, habitada por uma comunidade.
Na contramão dos aspectos sóbrios do início de sua carreira, o vídeo de “Solar Power” mostra a artista vestida em cores claras, se inspirando em figuras mitológicas, e, através de um plano-sequência, representando uma relação com a natureza e a arte que soa acalentadora tempos tão contraditórios de pandemia.

Em um e-mail enviado aos fãs, a cantora comunicou o lançamento de seu terceiro álbum de estúdio, que leva o mesmo nome do lead-single, em breve. “É um prazer divino apresentar a vocês, finalmente, meu terceiro álbum de estúdio, SOLAR POWER”, escreveu.
“O álbum é uma celebração do mundo natural, uma tentativa de imortalizar os sentimentos profundos e transcendentes que tenho quando estou ao ar livre. Em tempos de angústia, tristeza, amor profundo ou confusão, procuro respostas no mundo natural. Aprendi a expirar e sintonizar”, escreveu Lorde.
“Solar Power” foi escrita e produzida pela cantora e Jack Antonoff, parceiro de trabalho em seu álbum anterior, “Melodrama” (2017). Confira a letra completa.
