VMA 2020 anuncia Maluma, CNCO, Roddy Ricch e The Weeknd para lista de performances

Música latina ganha força na premiação, com três representantes do segmento confirmados.

CNCO, Maluma, Roddy Ricch e The Weeknd foram confirmados para a lista de performances do VMA 2020, que está marcado para o dia 30 de agosto. Os novos nomes de performers se unem aos já anunciados anteriormente BTS, Doja Cat e J Balvin. Parece que a música latina terá um lugar especial na cerimônia deste ano, já com três atrações.

O VMA 2020 tem dado sinais de valorização da diversidade. A lista de confirmados já inclui três latinos, três artistas negros e um grupo asiático de K-Pop. Os estilos musicais abraçados já passam por pop, pop latino, K-Pop, reggaeton, hip-hop e R&B. Essas sonoridades também são reconhecidas na lista de indicados, com categorias específicas para música latina e K-Pop.

VMA 2020 não terá mais local fixo e acontecerá ao ar livre

O VMA 2020 estava marcado para acontecer no Barclays Center, Brooklyn, mas agora não terá mais local fixo. De acordo com o PageSix, a edição será feita em lugares ao ar livre espalhados por Nova York. É realmente um formato inédito encontrado para premiação em tempos de pandemia de coronavírus, que impede as aglomerações e grandes shows.

Lady Gaga e Ariana Grande lideram lista de indicações

Ariana Grande e Lady Gaga são as líderes de indicações ao VMA, cada uma com nove. Billie Eilish e The Weeknd aparecem logo atrás, cada um com seis. Também foram introduzidas duas novas categorias temáticas: Melhor Videoclipe Feito em Casa e Melhor Performance em Quarentena.
