Premiação reservou boas surpresas: os favoritos perderam os principais prêmios!

Este domingo (8) foi uma noite de surpresas no BAFTA TV Awards 2022, com alguns dos favoritos perdendo os principais prêmios. O júri coroou uma ampla variedade de vencedores.

A estrela de “Killing Eve“, Jodie Comer, ganhou seu segundo troféu de Melhor Atriz – desta vez por “Help“, o drama escrito por Jack Thorne sobre a crise nos lares britânicos durante a pandemia de Covid-19. “Help” ganhou dois prêmios, assim como a série de prisão de Jimmy McGovern, “Time“, que rendeu a Sean Bean o prêmio de Melhor Ator.

Entre as produções que saíram sem prêmios estão “It’s A Sin“, série aclamada de Russell T. Davies sobre a epidemia de Aids e que tinha conquistado seis indicações. “Sex Education” e “We Are Lady Parts” também perderam nas duas categorias que estavam indicados.

Steve McQueen, que perdeu um BAFTA por sua aclamada série “Small Axe” em 2021, ganhou um prêmio pela série documental “Uprising“, que ele fez ao lado de James Rogan.

Em uma cerimônia altamente politizada, muitos dos discursos dos vencedores foram de apoio às emissoras de serviço público, particularmente o Channel 4, que o governo do Reino Unido planeja privatizar de forma controversa. “A BBC e o Channel 4 nos unem. Temos que aguentar firme e lutar por cada centímetro“, disse McQueen no palco.
