A 61º edição do Grammy Awards, a maior premiação da música, aconteceu ontem (10) no Staples Center, em Los Angeles.
Esta foi a primeira edição em que as categorias principais (álbum do ano, canção do ano, gravação do ano e melhor artista revelação) tiveram oito indicados, ao invés de cinco. A mudança, segundo a Academia, busca “refletir o grande número de inscrições nessa categoria e flexibilizar o processo de votação”.
Entre os premiados, temos em destaque o Childish Gambino que fez história no Grammy deste ano, com ‘This is America’, ganhando duas categorias principais: Melhor Canção e Gravação do Ano além de ‘Melhor Videoclipe’.
A cantora Cardi B também tornou-se a primeira mulher a ganhar o prêmio de Melhor Álbum de Rap. O número de mulheres vencedoras no Grammy deste ano, mostra a tentativa de mudança de cenário no Grammy que foi bastante criticado no último ano por excluir as mulheres da premiação.

Quem ganhou os primeiros Grammy’s também foi a cantora Ariana Grande. Que na semana anterior a premiação, desentendeu-se com a produção do Grammy e cancelou a participação que faria além de não ido a premiação. Ganhou na categoria Melhor Álbum Pop Vocal, com “Sweetener”.
Já a cantora Lady Gaga, ganhou três prêmios: Melhor performance pop de duo ou grupo, Melhor Canção Composta para Mídia Visual e Melhor Performance Solo de Pop.

Mas, o que podemos observar como tendência nessa premiação?
– Crescimento do Hip-Hop, que mesmo em categorias que não eram específicas ao gênero, ganharam a premiação, a exemplo de Childish Gambino;
– Falta de representativa do gênero Reggaeton, o que pode levantar um alerta se o formato que estourou em 2017 já apresenta sinais de ‘cansaço’;
– A mistura do Pop com Eletrônico a exemplo do som da cantora Dua Lipa, também pode ser uma forte tendência nas produções deste ano;
– O melhor clipe ‘This is America’ que tem inúmeras referências e críticas à violência policial contra negros nos EUA, também impulsiona a importância dos roteiros nas criações audiovisuais;
