Um dia depois de ser ignorado pelo Grammy Awards em sua lista de indicados, Harry Styles ganha um afago da revista americana Rolling Stone. A publicação divulgou sua lista das 50 melhores músicas de 2017 e colocou “Sign of the Times”, primeiro single solo do cantor, no topo do ranking. A revista elogia principalmente a decisão de Harry de mudar de estilo, com relação ao One Direction, sair de sua zona de conforto e encarar os riscos na nova fase.
“Sign of the Times fez um barulho instantâneo – uma balada excêntrica ao piano de quase seis minutos, mirando no nível de grandeza glamorosa de David Bowie e Queen, com Styles atingindo notas altas celestiais enquanto engloba a morte e o renascimento. (..) Styles foi a única estrela de rock durante todo o ano a apontar para um som grandioso com um com música de coração gigantesco”, escreveu a Rolling Stone.
